Adelle
Literature, Writing, SAT/ACT Verbal
 
A professional writer whose work appears in many magazines and newspapers, Adelle has been an English, history and writing advisor for the past two years. With a degree in history from Brown University and a Master's degree in journalism from Columbia University, she has experience with all types of academic writing. She also really enjoys working with students and sharing her thoughts on how to conceive a thesis, organize a paper and what makes for a good sentence. She also advises for the SAT.



Laura
Literature, Writing, History, SAT/ACT Verbal
 
Laura recently graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art and Archaeology and a minor in Modern Dance. As a member of Princeton Ballet School's ballet faculty during college, she was applauded for her creativity in the classroom and for her infectious enthusiasm. A freelance writer, Laura - along with her former co-workers at Richmond, Virginia's Style Weekly - was awarded a 2010 First Place AltWeekly Award in Media Reporting/Criticism. She advises students in english, history, writing and for AP Art History and the SAT.


   

Nina
SAT/ACT Verbal, Literature, Writing
 
Nina graduated from Harvard University, cum laude with High Honors in English and a secondary field in Dramatic Arts. She was a founding writer and editor for the Harvard Art Review and has experience tutoring in a wide range of subjects and assisting with college application essays. She enjoys helping students sharpen their writing skills in a variety of genres while encouraging them to find their own voice.


   

Chris
SAT/ACT Verbal, Literature, Writing
 
Originally from central New Hampshire, Chris graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in English. He has taught literature and writing (both analytic and creative) to high schoolers and strives to promote a love of close reading and free writing to all of his students. He has published fiction and non-fiction in various magazines and newspapers. In addition to working with students on literary topics, Chris provides SAT reading/writing preparation. He loves discussing complex themes and untangling complicated notions, and attempts to make such ideas understandable to each of his students.
